    History of Mola Abbas (as):

It was the fourth of Sha’ban in the year 26 AH. In the holy city of Medina, a man came running to the Prophet’s Mosque. He stood for a moment at the door looking among the worshippers for some particular person.

He was excited and when he spotted the Prophet’s cousin and son-in-law, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (asws), he rushed towards him breathlessly, shouting I have good news for you.The man was none other than Qanbar the faithful servant of the Imam.

He wiped the sweat off his forehead and said: my master I am coming from your house now and God Almighty has blessed with another son. I have come to give you this good news and ask what should he be named. Happiness could be seen in the Imam’s eyes. He smiled and said this child has a high status before God. I will come home now. I will name this son Abbas like my Uncle. That day was the fourth of Shaban.

    The battle of Siffin

Mola Abbas (asws) saw his first battle when 11 this was the battle of siffin.
One day Mola Abbas (asws) came masked and armoured, on the battlefield. When Ibn-e-Shasa, a brave and famous Syrian fighter saw this masked person, he asked one of his seven sons to slay him. Instead, the son was quickly put down. Similarly, the other six sons tried to fight this masked warrior, but they all met the same fate. Finally lbn-e-Shasa himself came forward and the manner in which he was also beaten, made all the other people stare in disbelief. They then thought this masked fighter to be Mola Ali (asws), and no one dared to come forward to fight. But, when Mola Abbas (asws) removed the mask, people were surprised to note that he was not Mola Ali (asws), but instead, Mola Abbas (asws), the inheritor of Hazrat Ali (asws)'s gallantry.
This is said that once Imam Hussain (asws), while present with his father Mola Ali (asws) in the mosque of Kufa, felt thirsty and asked for water from his servant Qumber. Then Mola Abbas (asws) leapt to his feet, and brushing aside the faithful servant, rushed to bring the water for Mola Hussain (asws). In the hurry to carry the water as quickly as possible, he spilt it. His illustrious father stopped in his speech and tears rolled down his cheeks.
When asked by his faithful followers the reason for his tears, Mola Ali (asws) uttered those prophetic words which came true some twenty years later: "Abbas who has today wetted his clothes with water in his zeal to quench the thirst of his brother Hussain, will one day soak his very body in his on blood in attempting to quench the thirst of Imam Hussain's children".
